Hello,

I am making a Gmod map that i am running in HDR by checking the "HDR" box in the compile screen. The skybox in my map is custom and is non-hdr. When i run the map and test it, the skybox is purple and black checkers. Even when i build cubemaps it still shows as missing.

I have run the exact same map without HDR and the skybox is there without any errors. SO clearly this skybox won't work in maps with HDR. I thought you could use LDR skyboxes in HDR maps? :? Is there a fix for this, besides turning the skybox into an HDR skybox, which i'm not interested in doing. Perhaps like a compile option or parameter to allow an LDR skybox in an HDR map?

I have hdr maps with no hdr skyboxes all the time, check if the sky texture is spelled correctly and the .vmt is right.

Everything is definitly spelled correctly, i have quadruple checked it. And if it wasn't spelled correctly, then it wouldn't be able to show the skybox when i run the map without hdr....

Add _hdr to the end, even if it doesn't have hdr textures.

I solved the problem. I did a number of things but i think most importantly was changing the "Sky" line in the vmts to "unlitGeneric" and also updating it in my gmod directory. Since Gmod usually pulls resources from other source games, mainly CSS and HL2, i was used to not moving any content to the Gmod directory, but when i added the sky textures to the gmod materials folder, it worked.

Gmod pulls from the .gcf and .vpk not the actual game folder itself. So any custom textures in EP2 will not show up in Gmod.
