Odd issue with func_precipitation

Postby Snowcat on Fri Jul 05, 2013 3:35 pm

Hello
I have a problem with my func_precipitation. It's supposed to take place on my whole map and I made sure the trigger-textures brushes that are attached to it are covering the whole map.
But it only shows up somewhere halfway the map. At a certain point, somewhere in the middle of the map, it starts snowing but before that, it's as if it doesn't exist.
And yes, I made sure the entity is everywhere on the map. It's one func_precipitation consisting of weveral brushes all tied to that one entity.

Anyone has an idea what I could be doing wrong?

If you are too close to the top of the rain volume the rain will stop rendering even though you are still inside of it.
Note: You can also put multiple func_precipitation brushes in the same area.

Seems like the only thing.
(From: https://developer.valvesoftware.com/wik ... ion_issues also read up on https://developer.valvesoftware.com/wik ... cipitation)
Another thing might be the
Density (0-100%) <integer>
This is the amount of particles that fall down from top side of brush. However distance from first particle to second depends on a brush volume size!

which means that if the brush is big enough in one area it'll spread it to non-existent, up the density?

First rodeo? Use the Source SDK Documentation for reference!
