Creating one time hints?

Postby MrMaps on Tue Jul 09, 2013 1:20 am

Hello folks, haven't mapped in a LONG time! I'm not a programmer, so I'm wondering, can I create hints that only work once out of the whole mod? I can use game_texts to splurt things out, but if a player wants to replay the map for fun, it would get annoying seeing all those hints again. Anyway maybe through some IO entity that communicates with a text file that uses a boolean to check if it should hint again?

Too much to ask without code? :)

No that's not possible without code. Just use env_hint it's much more subtle. This is a silly thing to worry about. :P

Thanks for the reply, thats a shame. I understand what you mean, but mines a very arcade-like mod using replayability on "stages". It's not too inconvenient with game_text though. :)
