Engine Error

Postby calmcaterpillar on Thu Aug 15, 2013 9:00 am

My map compiles fine. I have a working 6 floor elevator inside a skyscraper. When you get out of the elevator and turn right looking near a button the game/server crashes. I have tested it on CSS and GMOD. It happens with different textures, without lighting on the map at all, when there is no elevator there at all, and with/without fast compiling settings. It's just a spot in the map. There is no leak or anything. Unless displacements have to do with it. Here is the crashlog if there is a way to see anything else than engine.dll. Is there a fix or do I have to remake the map?
Here is the compilelog. http://pastebin.com/0Tm0TjsM
Here is the crash dump(Engine.dll unless you can go further.) https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/46427300/srcds_1678491_crash_2013_8_15T9_21_21C0.mdmp
It crashes anywhere around this area.(The textures are weird and the room is empty because I have been trying to fix this for a week, guess I should've just remade the map in that time.)

This happens on CSS too even though the picture is in garry's mod.

might be the cause. Otherwise, try with vis on normal (not fast) mode.

I have tried vis on normal, but I will try it without my displacements.

Edit: Still crashes with vis on normal and without displacements, this time it happened when I just walked into the elevator area. I was looking at the back wall. Really strange error, I assume the same as rp_evocity_v2d in the cave?

Go to Hammer, then from the tools find "Go to coordinates" and enter the coordinates in this fashion:
-2488.74 1450.15 -637.40 (I think it was without commas, check the pop up box for more info) and hit enter.
Do this for ALL the coordinates and see what is causing it, try hiding the brushes and recompiling, see if the error reappears.

Also, you have to realise we're mostly a mapping community, mapping doesn't automatically mean we know anything about GMod.
