CS/GO Loading screen

Postby Knights on Sat Oct 26, 2013 4:54 pm

This isn't really hammer related but rather CS/GO custom map related  Trying to get my map on the workshop but one thing holds me back is the damn loadscreen. It's a flash file but I can't seem to get it to load up. I have flash 5.0 and took the sample file from gamebanana. It just shows a blank screen when I put the files in the csgo/resource/flash folder. I can't find much on this subject and valves wiki sucks. Anyone make one for cs/go level?

What exactly do you mean?

My map is on the Workshop (de_investment), but I didn't ever do a flash file ...

The loading screen shows the map overview and a preview screen ...

I think you can make a flash version of the overview to add animated elements during load, as you see in the Valve maps when the little icons drop down on to the map. Otherwise the game just uses your overview image. AFAIK anyway!
Mappers Top Tip #548
Lighting: The arrangement, hue and intensity of one or multiple light sources.
Lightning: A dazzling discharge of electric sparks in the atmosphere, often preceding thunder.

I asked another mapper on steam and got the update that the flash loading screen is basically on its way out on the Workshop. So it's just two jpg files now. One jpg of the screenshot of your map, a sample can be found in the maps folder for scale (name that your map) and the other you can just slap your overview image (or the DDS) file in there (put your map name and "_loading" at the end) :smt041 I was going crazy trying to get a flash version working..
