Is it possible to make an npc_combinedropship fly backwards on a path, not facing the path's direction?

Maybe you could give it a target to look at while it is moving on it's path?

Cause I've seen it fly backwards when targeting the player. So I know it's possible but I'm unable tto test atm

Hmm ok - I tried having the dropship orientate itself by the direction of the path tracks which didn't work.

Then I tried what Gary suggested - and gave it a target - but that didn't work either - it pretty much just ignored the target, turned around and followed the track I gave it.

Now I'm trying to wrap my head around prop_dynamic - because I'm guessing that if I just tie it to a normal invisible train, it will not do a realistic flying animation - or I'd have to set all that up manually.

Why would it have to fly backwards in the first place?

I want it to back out of a building - similar to how a car backs out of a garage.

Since a dropship uses path_tracks for navigation, you could try to set the path_track "orientation type" to "Face this path_track's angles"

It's a bit of a guess, I doubt it works, dropships weren't designed to fly backwards?

If it doesn't work parenting a scripted sequence (hover anim) to a func_tracktrain on a path is probably the best workaround like lordDz suggested before.

yea I tried the path_track angle method already - it didn't work.
