Metal texture lighting reflection issue in-game

Postby FPSMoto on Fri Nov 08, 2013 8:35 am

Hi,

I am using a metal texture in certain areas of my map and in hammer, the textures look fine. But in game, they look distorted depending on what direction I'm facing or where I'm standing on the textures.

Here's a youtube clip I uploaded showing the issue:

I know it has something to do with lighting but none of my other non-metallic textures in this map have this issue. Short of changing the surface type in the VMT file, is there anything else I can do to fix this issue? The light outside the base is light_env and I've tried both light and light_spot entities inside the base with the same issue.

Yep, looks like it is a Vertexlitgeneric. I changed it to LightmappedGeneric and it works perfectly. Thank you! :)
