certain soundscapes wont stop playing?

Postby boj on Thu Jan 02, 2014 10:44 pm

I'm trying to use the soundscape "d3_citadel.breen_office" in my episode 2 custom map, but when i go to another soundscape, only a few sounds stop playing.

more specifically the weird screamy jet noises in the background. Does anyone know how to fix this?

I'm using the env_soundscape_triggerable for both of them if that helps.

I want to make my map spooky and these noises would be perfect if it weren't for the sounds going on forever.

From the soundscape script, there doesn't seem to be any jet noises. Is it possible that you triggered another soundscape?

Use the command in the console developer 1 and see what soundscape it is playing at all times so you are sure in what soundscape the problem is located.

Trigger_soundscapes activate when you get inside their volume and are not affected by another soundscape entity. Try to maually deactivate the trigger_soundscape via I/O and see what happens.

You need to isolate the source of the problem.

There doesn't seem to be any output I could use to stop the sounds

I searched around in the actual soundscape file and found out that it says it randomly plays these two sounds, which are the exact sounds that wont stop:

Code: Select all
   "playrandom"
   {
      "time"      "30, 60"
      "volume"   "0.1,0.15"
      "pitch"      "90,110"
      "soundlevel"   "0"
      "rndwave"
      {
         "wave"   "*ambient/levels/citadel/citadel_ambient_voices1.wav"
         "wave"   "*ambient/levels/citadel/citadel_ambient_scream_loop1.wav"
      }
   }

Instead of targeting the trigger_brush, trigger the soundscape_triggerable?

So you have two boxes of trigger_soundscape with two env_soundscape_triggerable tied to them, correct?
Let's call them trigger_soundscapes Box1 and Box2, and the env_soundscape_triggerables Sound1 and Sound2.
Box1 and has the "OnStartTouch" tied to Sound1 and Box2 has it tied to Sound2.

Correct?

ah, no, i just have the two env_soundscape_triggerables on either side of the entrance so that when you go in, the soundscape changes and again when you leave.

Is that a bad way of doing it?
