First map on CS:GO => Bots crash the game

Postby TonyRambo on Sat Feb 01, 2014 6:49 pm

Hi everyone,

In advance, sorry for my bad English, I use a translator.

I just created my first map on CS: GO, which is a port of one of my CS:S maps, and I realized that the game crashes after a few seconds, as soon as you playing with bots.

So I checked the navigation file automatically generated, and it turns out that only a very small part of my map is recognized.

Do you think there are one or more entities that could pose a problem when generating the .nav file?

The map can be downloaded from the workshop : here

Thank you in advance for your advice.

Edit: I forgot to mention, I have this error appears in the console when I run my map:

#######################################
Map aim_darkrains missing stringtable dictionary, don't ship this way!!!
Run with -stringtables on the command line or convar
stringtable_alwaysrebuilddictionaries enabled to build the string table

Start the map with no bots.
Type nav_edit 1 in the console, then look at the ground at your first spawn. Type nav_mark_walkable in the console.

Then type nav_generate_incremental in the console, this will generate more nav for you.

So just repeat doing this:
nav_mark_walkable
nav_generate_incremental
until your map is filled with nav.
Then type nav_save

You're now free to add the bots, nav_edit 0; bot_add; bot_add; bot_add; bot_add; bot_add; to test if it works.

Thank you for your reply, but apparently my info_player were at fault. After having deleted all, I recreated only 2 at ground level, and all the ground became walkable.

Now with your help, I managed to make the whole map walkable.

Regarding the bug that crashes the game, it seems that the displacements at the stairs are involved, I deleted all and the game no longer crashes with bots.

Do you think a bug collision between bots and brush displacements created this bug?

EDIT : the bug is still present, the game crashes after a few seconds, I don't understand, I played a session for several minutes earlier without the game crashes..

1) Do you have a info_player_start or more in the level?
2) Are your spawns set to be slightly up in the air?
3) Are the displacements of a power of 2-3 (4 tends to cause crashes)
