What I've tried to solve the issue, and nothing changes anything:
- Verifying the local game cache on both L4D2 and the L4D2 Authoring Tools
- Verifying the Build Programs paths
- Resetting the Game Configurations from inside Source SDK
- Running the L4D2 Hammer editor manually (not through the authoring tools) with Administrative rights
- Restarting my computer
- Uninstalling all Valve-related games and tools, deleting their leftover folders, and reinstalling L4D2 and L4D2 Authoring Tools (running L4D2 once before opening L4D2 Authoring Tools)
- Turning on "Wait for keypress when done compiling" does not keep the compiler log open because it never runs to begin with
I'm wondering if this has anything to do with the Steam Pipe updates screwing with my build or something. I've searched with several different keywords looking for anyone experiencing the same issue, and the closest related issue happened back in 2010. Their solution ultimately was to use Nem's tools instead. I don't want to have to resort to figuring out how to do that for L4D2 if possible. That's why I figured I'd ask and see if there was some known solution to this.
I really have no clue how to solve this, but I really want to prototype an idea I've been contemplating for some time now. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
