Bottom Geometry Displacements Not Showing Up In Top View

Hello, I have a new question concerning Hammer and am not sure if it is simply a limitation with the 2006 version of the engine. First and foremost thank you once again to those who have helped me out with my former displacement issue. My new issue comes with displacements showing up in the top view when they are placed on the bottom of block geometry. For some reason they will not show up unless they are on the top of the block. The only work around I have found was to build the geometry in the opposite direction and then flip it to fit what I am trying to build. Is this something that Hammer lacks or is there a setting that can view the bottom of your geometry so that I do not have to go through this added process to get things done? The only options that are in the view menus are:top, front, and side. I am not sure why Hammer has issues seeing the bottom. Thanks again for any information on this.

Polygons are rendered only from one side, so if your polygons face down, top is not visible and it affects both editor and engine

its really that simple

Answered in your other thread. Kirby is correct; Visual limitation of an ancient editor, and that's how displacements work. Carry on.

That is what I thought so, I will have to build it reverse in top view and flip it in order to get it to work. Thanks for the info guys, it is appreciated.
