Making a crocodile eyeball

Postby FPSMoto on Thu Jun 19, 2014 6:10 pm

So I tried a few different methods to get this to work, from using the primitive sphere tool (which never works, it always creates jagged edges if I leave hammer and go back in, see image below)

I then tried the subdivide feature. This gets the shape pretty much correct, but I can't paint the individual faces of the brush, shown below:

I even went as far as to try cutting up a sphere into a bunch of individual brush shapes but they never line up after saving.exiting and reopening hammer.

Can someone help me figure out a good way to achieve what I'm trying to make in hammer?
This is what I'd like it to look like (before hammer goes all nuts on me):

Wat

Serious answer: use a model for the eyeball. I'd say learning how to make a sphere in 3dmax is not so difficult.

Rawr Rawr says the crocodile.
Also, eye looks ok for what you're trying to do.

Make a model, and make the eye follow the player around.

Why not using a texture on that subD eyeball?

Something like this:

Or even with a little more detail:
