Great news for CS:source

Postby BaRRaKID on Mon Nov 29, 2004 12:53 pm

CAL(cyberathlete amateur league) as anounced a cs:source division. This is a great news because CAL serves as a test for CPL the major esports league in the world. So if eveything goes well in CAL we may see cs:source as the next big professional game. The league will start 3rd of january, and the registrations are open.
I know this is moding site, but we are also gamers and some maybe interested in this.

Cool.
Source is so much better than 1.6 in every way. The people who prfer 1.6 are living in the past and are afraid to venture into proper physics and gameplay.
I love playing source for hours each night. I cant wait for new mods. I watch a game of 1.6 the other day and its BAD.
People complain about the requirements of the game but you cant have a P2 with 64 megs of ram forever. upgrade you cheap gits to a proper PC :)

What a load of bull. Sorry, but that's just bollocks. CS: Source and 1.6 are completely different to each other when they shouldn't be, and to be honest, 1.6 is a lot more fluid, friendly and rewarding. With Source, Counter-Strike has been turning into a complete 'spray and pray' fest -- no reward for skill now, at all. With 1.0 you actually felt that you had beaten someone by having a better aim than them. Now, with Source - you feel you have beaten them because you had a better gun and held down the trigger for longer.

Sure, it has physics and a sexy engine -- but that doesn't warrant a better game. There are so many things wrong with cs: s that it just hurts to think about it. While, I do play cs: s now and again it just depresses me by how much better it could have been over 1.0.

I prefer it, I don't need 100 hours of gameplay to master one gun anymore.

sadly cs:s is far to easy. i joined a server the other night and bought myself a deagle first round i was there, 2 hs 2 knifes and 3 other kills and our team won the round because of me. its not hard for the nubs on a team to come in after the half decent players and spray out the other teams nubs... seriously they made the hit box so much bigger, even i can awp now. but i still love it

Idont know because i have never played 1.6 but i think that css took alot of new players to play it and that is maybe why there are so many n00bs in it (including me)

Well that is your opinion. I think CSS is far better, as does the people I use to play 1.6 with. Im not sure about spray fest. I play just as well in source as I did in 1.6, except its more realistic in source. I have no problem aiming at long range and picking people off. As far as im concerned, the hitboxes in 1.6 are worse than source. I am glad the CPL is migrating to source and with any luck 1.6 will die a horrible death :D
