City Havoc: An Organized multiplayer Crime Mod for HL2

Hi, I am currently looking for a full set of team members, I have a 2d artist, PR guy, and 2 mappers but Ofcourse all slots are open (except PR). Before I go on let me tell you more about the mod City Havoc. It is based on modern Organized crime. But the game will not be just your regular TDM. Instead the city will have civilians, infact you start out as one. From there you can choose to either join 1 of 2 gangs (or more depending on map size) or freelance between the two. Each gang will have there own garage and armory and will gather the goods by getting shops/business to pay protection money. The more shops you own, the more of the city you own, and the more of that the more money, money leads to good things. For one it pays off the cars needed to do your deals in the game, and aswell it'll buy the guns for the gang. All this is decided by the Gangs boss.

Every game starts with peace and ends with a victory. When I say Peace I truely mean peace. Either gangs wouldn't jepordise getting the attention of the police untill they could payoff such things. The conflict will begin generally if two gangs want to claim a shop/business for protection money. Also shops may not be so willing to allow you to "protect them" so harassment may insue with the use of drive bys and what not.

Bascially without giving too much away this is how the game will be played....

Coders (AI at first will be that of HL2s I have ideas of doing the basic theme of the game...We shall discuss.)

2d artist (Modern stuff)

Sound Artist (Basic sounds)

Webdesigner (Ofcourse)

and All of the above. As always any other contributions are needed and praised.

almost similar to NS with there being a leader. Nice concept, but there are god knows how many mods out there and if you don't have experience I doubt many people will join. Gd luck tho.

Mods rarely take off from forum post recruitment. You need a site and some media, attract people in and give them a reason to want to join.

that just hapened to "my" mod.. it was cool project but died even before it started, anway good luck, in case you don't get any mappers give me a call ^^

i dunno, the mod i working on started from a forum post and so far we have up to 20 members i think, 5 mappers (inc. me) 3 skilled modellers, 2 coders and a bunch of other people who do stuff that i dont know what there doing, but for us its so far so good

(desperatly need an animator btw :lol: )

Mappers are always welcome, I tried pming you but it didnt' work for some reason...Eh drop by #cityhavoc if ya can or Unadajc3nt is my aim. The website is being worked on as we speak and i've already been aproached with hosting options yet I'm currently just looking at my decisions...

sounds like a cool concept.
I would like to help cuz the idea appeals to me, been stirring my finger in a similar gameplay idea but like i said, i'd like to help but i can't, srry, need a pc that can run hl2 :'( bloody 866.

I have a load of modelers now (one guy has a major in animation) but still looking for mappers. The website is now actually informative :lol:
