Things you've found in games.

I've been playing a lot of Bad Company recently. I was going through Air Force One, when, to my surprise, I found a laser designator pickup lying around at an enemy position. Even more to my surprise was that it was a Russian laser designator, playing a Russian radio message every time you lock a target instead of the American message you get with the 'regular' ones on Par For The Course and the final level. Getting the designator completely changed the level for me, because now I can airstrike the crap out of those damn AA guns. In fact, on the BC missions you can just look around, check out those random little outposts and find cool stuff. Like how you can get the mortar guidance system on Par For The Course and Crossing Over.

I thought this was really cool. I'd gone out of my way to find cool stuff. DICE could have just thrown in the US laser designator, but I got a Russian one. It's like the game is rewarding me for finding something awesome. So, I want to know when you've done something like that. Gone out of your way to maybe check something out or find something and the game actually rewards you for it. Another good example would be the Skulls in Halo 2 & 3, or some of the hidden buildings in Far Cry 2 deep in the jungle (I have one on the first map that I use as a base. It's awesome.). You get a lot of these in open-world games, where there's enough space to hide awesome things in.

So what have you found?

Addendum: If you've got Bad Company and you want to get in on the airstriking mayhem, the laser designator on Air Force One is located on the top of the first dam you come to. It's marked with a white X on your map. It's the one that's towards the right side of the bridge (as seen from the direction you approach it).

There is a hidden note in the police station in Fallout 3 that repeatedly says "Flaying Bananas Dont Talk!"
It was obviously written by a crazed prisoner.

Isn't there like a whole computer with equally weird notes in a police station?

No, there's written recordings of 911 calls. But they're pretty weird

Ah yeah that's the one. There are some funny stuff to be found in FO3.

I remember the dead guy in Max Payne with a stake in his back, who only managed to scrawl out BUFF in his own blood before kicking the can.
Then there's the HEV suit in Insurgency, and the gun-carrying rats in MP... and that's all I can remember for now.
i had fun once, and it was awful.

there's ridiculous amounts of easter eggs i found in the halo series...me and my friend went through a phase of trying to 'break' every level on halo - i.e get outside the normal boundaries.

i remember way way back on super mario world on the SNES lots of hidden stuff but, me and my brother were adamant we found a super secret level up in the clouds above the world (when you're in the world/level view), as you had those beanstalks that led to other areas...we completed every level...and i honestly dont know if we led ourselves to believe it or if its really true that we found it...ah well

the MGS series usually has some funny secrets and whatnot, but cant manage to pick a good one off the top of my head :/

There's no limit to the amazing crap I found at Stalker. Half the game revolves around gathering anomalities for money and weapons and upgrades, as well as cool items. It's such an awesome game.
