Having problems with flash light

hey guys im currently working on a mod for Half life 2 Deathmatch and im wondering if my pc is just stuffing up or maybe it isnt possible but can you get the flash light in Half life 2 deathmatch. This might sound nooby but i seriously cant get this working, I have checked the control settings and it is set to 'f' but whenever i try and turn it on, nothing happens, help would greatly be apprechiated

Noob response here, but isn't there a console command for mp_allowflashlight or mp_flashlights or something like that?

thanks, it worked, so will that work everytime now, or will i need to keep using that code?

I think it's a server-side command. So if someone hosted a server, it's an option for them. I think in HL2:DM if you go to "Create Server" there's an option to allow flashlights or not, so it's a server cvar. I'm sure you could make a server cfg to have them be active.
