Iskunder, we are helping.

Here is the advice. Drop it. You've probably learned a lot about mapping but it sounds like you are trying to create the level of detail associated with models using brush work, which is killing your map.

Learn to model basic props, and start a fresh map. Once you become good at creating your own props you can look back on your rats map and probably save a whole lot of problems just by using props instead of brush work.

Helping some one is not telling them to quit, after they ask vital questions about texturing and modeling.

Like previous people mentioned, I can use propper to get my models in and that's what I will do. These are the kinds of helpful comments I'm looking for.

The map itself in my opinion has a good lay out(its hard to tell from the pictures. Once I transfer most of my brush work to models, the problems I keep running into will fade. I also understand that I need to work on game play and not just models.

I don't understand whats compelling most of you people to tell me to just quit? Haven't I made it clear? I need this done. Please answer the questions I provide, I'm well aware of the consequences of not starting fresh. In fact I assure you that I have re sized, rescaled, re textured, this isn't just old crap I'm hanging on to, It has value and I know I can make it work.

Once again I'm asking you guys. Whats a good way to make textures or to convert pictures that I have taken with my camera into textures?

Dont give up dude. Its looking good. Just get yourself Photoshop, and http://nemesis.thewavelength.net/index.php?c=178 for the textures. Find a simple tutorial that will tell you how to get the textures in game, such as http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y40UIt5SKqw. If this is all you have after 5 years of reworks and what not, than it just means you work at a slower pace than most of the pros around here. If you need any help, send me a message on steam and i can try to help you out with texturing.

Iskunder, you're getting a unanimous response from an experienced community. Take the advice you're given, if everyone thinks you're wasting your time trying to fix the issues in this map, odds are pretty darn good that you are. Move on to another project with everything you've learned from this one.

Forget it... He's not going to listen. It seems like this is just a hobby for him anyway so it's not a huge deal.

Okay, okay. I'm sorry. I just can't believe this map took 5 years. Anyways you want criticism? Okay:

It's blocky

The lighting sucks

The textures suck

There. Is that okay?

Yeah, 5 years is overkill.

This map looks done.

Move on.

Start a new project.

Learn how to work faster.

Cut and run.

Just cut and run.

You have lighting and design skills but you've been dragged into the shit on this. It's an unfixable mess. Abandon it and start on something totally new. You might surprise yourself at what you make with 5 years of experience with a sudden lack of limitation.

One week. Make a new map. Come back and PM me some screens. I'm interested in what you could do.
