Fixed my 360, need games to play.

Postby stoopdapoop on Mon Mar 01, 2010 3:23 am

Whattup nubs,

I recently fixed my 360, and I'm looking for some games to play through. I'm open to pretty much any genre but I need suggestions. My only requirement is that the reccomended game shouldn't have a good PC port. (something like RE5 has a pc port, but it's really shitty, so I'd play it on the 360)

Right now I have GTA IV, assassin's creed, forza 2, halo 3, gears of war, guitar hero (lol) dead rising, and condemned 1. And I've played through resident evil 5.

I'm about to go and get forza 3 right now and probably assassin's creed 2. But yeah, let the suggestions flow.

pshhh, I already bought BC2 on pc, they even made a promo video about how the pc version was going to be a good port. Fancy mouse menus, fancy graphics options, tighter gunplay (like bf2), a server browser(!) and some other performance related stuff, also DX10 if I remember correctly.

and dark veil, I didn't really like the avp2 demo :(

halo reach looks like it's going to be really good.

But surely there are some back-catalog games that are worth playing (and probably cheap too)

Doom. And Black. And Castle Crashers (which is actually really, really good). All on XBL.

I'm old skool.

The only games I keep my 360 around for are Halo and Mass effect. Those two games represent the best of what 360 has to offer in terms of action games.

You already mentioned that you had Halo 3 but have you played through the first and second game? The first one was the best game of the whole franchise so that is really a must if you haven't played it already. And the second Halo is only for the story.

If you have even the slightest bit of a roleplayer in you, Mass effect 1-2 are games for you. ME 1 was a lot more like a roleplaying game than the second one so if you're not into roleplaying, ME 2 is still a good option for an action game (if you don't mind a hell of a lot of dialogue). Mass effect games represent the best of roleplaying games at the moment. Also ME franchise is a very good choice because of its replay value. Though you should play the first one through before jumping to the second one if you want to really max out the experience (since you can import your old character to the new game and your every choice counts and they might have severe consequences).

Hopefully I got you convinced of these games. They really are the elite of what 360 has to offer. If you still doubt that Mass effect could do the trick for you, go and check reviews from Metacritic for both games and visit the game websites. :)

Shame you don't have a PS3 as I'm enjoying Demon's Souls which people claim is hard, it isn't.

You should get bayonetta, darksiders and arkham asylum if you don't have them already.

As for XBLA: P.B Winterbottom, Splosion Man, BF1943 and marvel vs capcom 2.

Bayonetta and Demon's souls were probably the best games of 2009.

That game looked awesome as shit. It looks like a rated M version of Zelda or some shit, which would be AWESOME. I want to get a PS3 badly because of this game and several others.
