The point of the beta is to play test, balance, and bug find with human players. Proper AI wasnt even added in the beta sooo....
AI specifically meaning the movement of units via commands,
not "computer" players via versus. I state that in the post. I would appreciate it if you didn't take me as a fool. They wanted to emulate the movement routing from the original starcraft to help micro still be a major factor, and they did so accurately, however the movement routing sometimes acts a bit more stupid than it should for a modern game, which can make it frustrating. It isn't exactly the worst thing in the world, but makes the game feel older sometimes than it is.
While I am on the subject of some small things that annoy me, Battle Modifiers can be a bit annoying because they play a much larger role in this game than damage types did in the previous starcraft. Sometimes units act as super hard counters against other units, and other times a unit is ONLY good when using it against a specific unit. This isn't a problem for most races, but for protoss it is a very difficult problem. With protoss, units are expensive and they aren't very good at being able to adapt tech trees as quickly as Terran or Zerg. Because of this, if you tech something quickly and the enemy unit unfortunately has built a hard counter, you can not really recover as a protoss player easily. However, if you build the hard counter units against a Terran or Zerg player, they are easily able to adapt quickly. With protoss, I've suggested that they reduce the modifier amount for some units that seem to be no good against any unit and only average against units that fit their modifiers. A stalker, for example, is only really an average unit when the modifier is applied, and when it's gone it's probably the worst protoss unit, which makes it really not even useful at all and is probably the main reason why protoss lack anti air. Modifiers should be important when talking about 2 armies that are the same size, but they shouldn't really allow for anything that is far more significant than the way the player uses his units / micro's the enemy player.
Yes, it's a beta, but being a beta tester means also submitting these types of issues you have with the game, which I have been frequently. I only wish I had another copy, so I could easily find ways of exploiting some of the new units without people crying "fucking cheesy player" on the internet, because it really isn't beneficial.
