I very much doubt this will delay EP3- it seems like it's taken forever and I haven't heard a release date, so it sounds like valve is definetly no rushing this project and if it is truely the last installment in the Half-Life series they obviously want to go out with as big if not a bigger bang then what the came back with when they originally launched HL2, and Breen as a character was pretty much killed off.

but about ep3, even if breen did survive the end of hl2, he'd probably be badly disfigured or on combine life support or something, easily justifying a change in voice actors.

Valve always make a point of getting the very best performances in game, and the voice actors are part of that. Fantastic voice, skill and approach to the character.

Certainly one of the defining voices of that decade of gaming; you knew it was Breen the moment you heard him. A real pity.

his voice is (was) simply awesome and totally underlining the atmosphere at the beginning of half-life 2. when i first played the demo to hl2 and heard his voice, i wanted to buy the game. thatnks to this man leading me to the source-engine.

Damn Let's just hope he really did die in HL2, because if he didn't, he was probably meant to have some major antagonist role in Ep3. If Valve has to rewrite the entire plot for Ep3, I don't think they'll be releasing it anytime soon...
