I honestly don't know how I feel about the DLC.

It's a bit of a bump, but I think it's worth mentioning that DLC isn't there to be purchased by everyone. It's something there that fans will be interested in buying. For the record, I would pay valve to update counterstrike source with 5 maps, 2 of which from the original CS. Are you all saying you wouldn't even consider paying?

Certainly, the price is steep, but at the same time, it's a business and things need to be made in way that one would consider "profitable". Also take into consideration that, when publishing these types of things, microsoft / sony get part of the profits due to distribution, and often times microsoft has the last word when it comes to pricing. Thus why L4D2 had charged DLC on the xbox, and was probably also related to the delayed PC release time (Microsoft would have been pissed if they released the free dlc at the same time, because people would not even consider purchasing the xbox live version.)

And the L4D2 dlc was 1 campaign for about 7$ if I recall correctly. Multiply that 7 dollars by 5 and we get 35 dollars. Of course, a campaign is 4 - 5 maps at a time, but also take into consideration total playtime and also size / planning of a map. While I love L4D2, there's a significant higher amount of planning when it comes to designing multiplayer maps in comparison to single player / co-op (In terms of gameplay, that is.) Making a linear layout in which one does not need to worry about balance / risk and reward gameplay If I played a lot of MW2, it would be a no brainier to purchase the package. 5 maps can easily entertain players for quite some time, and 25 dollars is around 2 movie tickets, which is about 4 hours of entertainment. I think players can easily find more than 2 hours of playtime in this package.

Idk, maybe I'm defending something that may or may not be for the best for the gaming community, but it's important to note that DLC is a new frontier, and because of this, pricing will be quite varied for quite some time and companies will have to do a lot of experimenting before they know what is best price wise. This price will work for most people who play the game a lot and are big fans of the franchise.

Anyone hear that IW are closing down? A lot of IW employees are switching over to the newly formed Respawn Entertainment (which was set up by the ex-bosses of IW).

I hear that this DLC is the last bit of support for MW2, unless if Activision get some other team to continue throwing out DLC. I get the impression they're wanting to cash in on MW2 before their lawsuit...

The map pack is at the top of the top sellers list on steam right now. That's a lot of people I pity right there. : (

What do you mean? I'm just saying that since every cod game is basically the same thing with a few maps added this "map pack" could very well be Just a new cod game. Sarcasm...

Well, there's no need to bump a thread from 2 years ago with a comment as inane as that.
