Well you clearly haven't read up on your Halo fiction.
Reach is a prequel to Halo: CE.

Halo 1 had a great pistol / assault rifle / shotgun. (Both in terms of looks and sound) I would often storm a hallway with a mate of mine, firing off an entire clip of the assault rifle blind at the enemy just for the pure awesomeness of the sound you'd get.
Halo 2: ... goodbye useful / good looking shotgun / assault rifle... also Halo 2's headbobbing was absolute crap, the game felt way to float-y

Um...I know...I read the book years ago before Halo 2 even came out. No need to try and school me on Halo lore dude. Halo Reach is going to be the last game of the Halo series, therefore it's the end of the series. It doesn't matter if the game takes place before the first, if it comes out last then it's the last of the series.

I'm more challenging the fact you're contemplating how Bungie are gonna end their game, when we already know exactly how it ends. You made it seem like you're a clueless fan of the games,so, um.. how do you expect me to like, um, know you've read the book?

Everything got dumbed down in ME2, at least everything related to RPG gameplay. The guns were all pretty difficult to use, but the Widow sniper rifle was fucking amazing. Also the carnifex handcannon was pretty good, it just lacked a lot of ammo.Sorrow wrote:Not that my opinion on this game matters much but have you noticed a trend in dumbing weapons down / both in awesomeness / damage?

The guns in Halo 1 were totally OVER powered. I got so sick of being sniped from halfway across the map by the god damn pistol when playing Halo PC. I did miss it in the Halo 2 campaign, but I was grateful that it was gone in the mutliplayer because it would have been incredibly cheap. There's supposedly a story behind the pistol being overpowered. Apparently a dude at Bungie ninja-changed some values for it or some shit just before the game launched, sending it to the top-10 guns in games of all time list.
Removing the assault rifle completely in Halo 2 was lame I agree, but when they brought it back in Halo 3 they balanced it pretty well by cutting the clip in half and making it more accurate, which I was also grateful for. The Halo 3 shotgun was perfect in my opinion. It wasn't too weak and it wasn't overpowered like it was in Halo 1. The pistol got reworked again in Halo 3 and they made it a little more powerful than in Halo 2, but difficult to use, which it needed, because it's a PISTOL, not a fucking sniper rifle.
Reach looks like it has more guns than any of the other games ever had, and that's fucking awesome in my opinion.
