Interlopers.net Forum - Half-Life 2 News & Tutorials

It's come to my attention that, for a thriving video games-centred community, Interlopers does relatively little in the way of organised games. This is essentially just an exploratory thread to see how many people would be interested in weekly/fortnightly/monthly/some-kind-of-regular-time-scale games with other people from the community.

If you're interested, tell us so in this thread. Vote in the poll to tell us which games you'd like to play, and if there's a big game you think we've missed, feel free to mention it. The basic idea as it stands now is a rota of different games, changing each time we play, with the most popular games coming back again more frequently so that people that missed out the last time can get in on the action faster.

Obviously, as a Source-centric website most of the games option we've put on the poll are either Source games or mods of them, but we've also put in a few other popular games that are available on Steam to give a bit of variety.

All the matches would be conducted through the Steam Community, with event times and details available there. As a result, if you'd like to play in the matches and aren't in the Interlopers Steam Community group, you'll need to get an invite to join from an existing member. To do this, you can post in the invites thread with your Steam ID.

[Edit] Rather than clogging up the normal 'Lopers community for those that aren't interested, I've set up the community group The Interlopers Gentlemen's Club, which you should join for the events and whatnot.

Bad Company! I abolustely love this game for the strategy and teamplay involved. Neotokyo was one of my favorite HL2 mods back in the day which I wouldn't mind picking up again, and TF2 of course would be great although I think I've played it to death by now. L4D1 and 2 would also be graet for fewer people.

I would also like to voice my interest for Garry's Mod for the awesome Trouble in Terrorist Town gamemode where a few traitors are selected at random, and whose objective is to kill the rest of the group without being found out and kiled themselves. It's like Clue and it's very social.

While I love the idea of Killing Floor, you can only have 6 people at once.

Having 20 lopers roll into a server somewhere would be an experience I wouldn't forget.

Raw if we do GMod it has to be fretta, only one worth doing imo ;p

Time to get out the old pipe and play some games like a real gentleman.

I would love to play TF2 or neotokyo. I assume we'll be playing some member's custom maps too?

If we play TF2 can we call it the Official Interlopers Mentlegen's Games club?

I really do think an Interlopers server would be a good idea, where we host maps that wouldn't usually get a chance.

This sounds like an awesome idea.

As well as my votes above I'd like to see SourceForts get a bit of love. It may not have the prettiest maps, which would obviously be downright offensive to some 'lopers but I reckon it's one of the most fun Source Mods ever released!
