Jack Thompson, again...

Postby nub on Thu Sep 09, 2010 11:25 pm

Seems like our good friend Jay Tee has awoken once again, and this time around he plans to stop the release of the upcoming EA title Medal of Honor. He sent a letter to the Secretary of Defense regarding the issue.

The letter is quoted in the article. Try not to laugh.

well, I can understand that he has a problem with the game getting sold to minors
the other day I was in a game of l4d2, and I was playing it with a 8 year old dutch boy.. and his dad was in the server too
jezus christ, some parents...
but I think he's just using that as a point to convince the Secretary of Defense

completely banning a game or censoring it like Germany and Australia does is unfair, adults should be able to play what ever the hell they want

When he dies, any bans will be demolished by a rising surge of gamers.

I wonder if he realised an absolute plethora of US Marines have issued their support for the game. Because they're normal people rather than cockends.

It won't be sold in military bases in the Middle East for obvious reasons. I understand that. But this is just the ramblings of a half-sane nutcase intent on furthering his dead career.

I don't think 8 year olds have problems seeing the difference between a game and reality (especially a cartoony game like l4d) when the parent explains it properly/they have a good upbringing.

Also, if people would stop giving retards like Thompson so much attention he'd prolly just "rage quit" anyways.

it's pointless to discuss something like that, if you can't understand you shouldn't expose kids to brutal violence.
