[Pictures!] Valve's DotA 2

Can't wait! So this is surprise 1 out of 3 right? That gabe promised us.

With a wide range of games as incredible and beloved as the Half-Life series, Portal, Team Fortress, and the Left 4 Dead games behind them, Valve has become one of the most respected developers in the industry. When they announce a new game, it's a big deal. Tomorrow, they'll do just that right here on the Game Informer website.

Over on the Defense of the Ancients website, anonymous developer IceFrog posted a blog noting that Game Informer -- that's us! -- visited Valve last week to check out his new project. Dude isn't lying, and tomorrow we'll be revealing that game and sharing all of the first details with you.

For those who don't know, IceFrog is the developer currently maintaining Defense of the Ancients (or DotA), a popular Warcraft III mod. He was hired by Valve last year, but the project he's been working on with them has remained a mystery. Stay tuned for all the details tomorrow.

We already know it's Defence of the Ancients. There's a viewmode for it in the AS SDK modelviewer...

(granted, everyone else might not know that, but still...)

Also change title maybe? I thought it meant 'Next Game Announced Here', as in, here on Interlopers, rather than on Game Informer.

It's obvious its DOTA when there's a link to his blog, but atleast we will be getting some actual details and maybe even screenshots..

Well, it feels like it will be DotA with a twist, a bing one, a Valve one! They probaly know all about HoN and LoL and Avalon heroes. Witch is newly(almost) created games who stand on the same fundamentals as dota does. So it will be very hard to just make an other dota game, especcialy with Source imo :S

So I think we can expect something really cool from them
Hopefully they will focus more on a e-sport appraoch, that is what I want to se as they just fuck cs 1.6

Clearly it is Defenstration of the Asians, a game where you throw Starcraft 2 players out of windows.

Urgh, Valve! quit stalling and do something about EPISODE III.
Even though they're probably not actively working on that game (I assume 'IceFrog' is) there hasn't been any news about Ep3 for too long (can't think of a way to end the series perhaps?), stop the L4D / Portal stuff for a moment plx.

Just because valve is working on OTHER PROJECTS and HIRING NEW PEOPLE does not mean that episode three isn't being worked on. I'm willing to bet there are ep3 references in Portal 2 and after it's release valve will start pushing out some stuff on ep3.

I never really looked into dota itself, it's just that gamemode in rts games where thousands of units run through a path like lemmings and you have to make units to take them out along the way? If so, I should have some fun with this.

Don't remember where but I believe they said that mann-conomy was the first of gabe's three suprises.
