Dota 2 uses Valve's Source engine, so the game is much prettier. Source itself is getting a few upgrades, including improved global lighting and true cloth simulation.

Hell yeah! I like how VALVe is proving to everyone that Source Engine can be used for any genre.

I agree with what most of Yokai is saying, except that Icefrog is just "one developer among many", he has done more for DotA then any other person alive with the exception of Eul. (the guy who made trents and ghouls move from A-B-C)

If anyone, or any company with him under their employ, deserves to copy-write DotA its Valve and Icefrog, better then Activision or EA correct?

Stop whining dude. You should be glad people are motivated enough to express their opinion so detailed about things. And if you don't care to spend a couple of minutes reading someone his view about things, then you fail me sir.

I think so yes. Blizzard (Activision Blizzard, Inc.) would be worthy enough too, I guess.

Because I think yokai doesn't deserves that kind of attitude from you. You're posting in a thread you say is 'boring'. Why feel the urge to comment if the stuff here isn't interesting enough for you...

I can understand that you don't like VALVe making games that you won't probably like, but why bother us telling that you think it's boring. It's not like anyone benefits from it. Your one word opinion isn't interesting to read (atleast, that's how I experience it). However if you would have said you don't like them making a non fps game, that would be more insightful ánd interesting for us. That would tell us you don't like them making such a game, because you don't like such games.

Also why bother behaving that much different on the internet, sure you can troll and be insignificant about what you do; but why? I don't think we appreciate it much as a community if people would only have an attention span of 10 seconds, otherwise posting tl;dr or reacting people should write shorter posts. I think it's a good thing people still put time and effort into what they write. Yokai for instance puts time and effort into the posts he makes. His posts are insightful into what he thinks and why. However, you past comments haven't been really. Also saying "yokai doesn't know any better :P" is bullshit. He's a nice guy putting time and effort into this community writing meaningful, insightful and interesting posts. I know his posts are longer than most others. But is that a bad thing? Dedication? Detail? I don't think he deserves negative reactions about that. However, sure you can disagree with his opinion; but saying that his posts are too long hints to disrespect in my opinion.

Anyhow since this is my opinion, I'll render my arguments invalid with this image; so you can laugh and don't need to read all the text.
I mean, I mean; it's sooo long this text. Takes ages to read, a -fucking- million billion minutes. /sarcasm

delta, I was just joking about Yokai because he always makes such long posts,
I actually did read it
also, you don't need to defend him.. I think he can manage on his own lol

and, I'm not behaving differently on the internet, if someone on school was looking at the Dota 2 pics I would have said
BO0ORING
I don't have to react according to your likings, if I wanna say 'boring' I'm going to say 'boring'

finally get laid, you are acting uptight
first the rant in chat about Japanese people, and now making a big deal out of a small joke.. really
and oh yeah EPISODE3!

Oh yay, they have cloth simulation, so did Halo2 and it was released 8 years ago for the original xbox.

Anyways, the game it self looks okay, not my kind of game but still it looks interesting.

Um, I don't recall Halo 2 ever having it. At what part in that game did you see true cloth simulation?

Oh, and Halo 2 came out in 2004, so that was six years ago.

But more importantly, why complain? Cloth simulation in Source? That's fucking awesome. Now we can do more with character models, and we can have shit like drapes on windows that act realistically. It's a minor feature, but it goes a long way if you use it right.

No. Fuck that. Craptivision doesn't deserve anything after all the shit they've pulled.
