Black Ops?!

I don't come round here much anymore, but I've got the majority of the way through black ops now and the game and art are tragic...

Yep, I don't like World at War singleplayer or Black Ops singleplayer. Treyarc they have some way of me not liking it..

Infinity ward just nails it with storytelling, animation and voice acting in cod4 and mw2 singleplayer, treyarc fails tragic there.

Black ops multiplayer is just a ripoff mw2 with dedicated servers and what the community wanted.

I even found the graphics bad, which is a crime considering how strong the engine they use is, (on xbox) the texture resolution for props seemed very low, to the point that you were seeing real blurs and aliasing, the displacement work was half arsed, lots of things were flat when they should of been displaced. Cannot believe how much money they must of spent producing it...

Multiplayer seems better, love how, after 3 iterations of MW, killstreak activation (i.e. calling in choppers or jets) aren't using the C4 detonator anymore! :D there's nothing new, except they've bloated the entire interface to the point that I have no idea what the fuck I should be doing, and now that COD points have been implemented (I have 100,000 at level 45... weapons are 2000 each, you do the math about how useless it is), challenges are useless. Camo can be bought and has no real "skill indicator" that MW2 had (i.e. if you had Fall camo, you were obviously good with the weapon).

My 2 cents on multiplayer it's a slightly worse looking MW2, with challenges made pointless, an apparently infinite money system, and balanced weapons.

If IW had not been lazy and spent 1 more week developing dedicated servers, they would have made an absolute KILLER of a game. Not a fan of the art, all looks a bit amateur and the models/textures seem like 360 ports :s

imo its a Treyarch CoD.
I felt that WaW and BO were more thematic and had grandeur moments.
(IW had there fair share too, the EMP and Nuke come to mind)

But more or less the story is pretty simple, whereas MW had a more complex story down to the point where probably half the player base did not understand it :\ (My theory for why I always here people bitching about the singleplayer story)

I feel like its multiplayer is more floaty then MW, which I really liked the grounded feel of MW compared to my past Halo experiences.

The story line is alright but the way that Treyarch has told it is awful, i mean your in the middle of the map then it flashes back to you stuck in the bloody chair, and i hate the menu, the way its set up is dumb.

Haven't played the multiplayer yet and don't won't to, it sucks.

logical

I played through the Singleplayer and I thought it was alright, the flashbacks were interesting and how you played the memories Mason was trying to remember.

The multiplayer I dont like nearly as much as MW2, the maps arent as good and they all play similar other than Nuketown. I liked the sniping maps in MW2 like Wasteland, but Black Ops has not one of these type.

Also I agree that the game doesnt look as good, I thought it looked a little cartoony when I first saw it.

Really? I think the maps all play differently... i.e, shotguns/SMGs good for one, rifles good for another, etc. Personally for sniping I like Array. As long as you don't go inside the big building at the centre you've got excellent LOS everywhere, and in HC all shots are 1 shot kill... I love it! :D

I like the CoD gameplay, but I won't be buying them much once Call of Duty in Space comes out....

I overall liked the single player, was fun.

On graphics(x360), the textures did seem a bit low less, but I loved how there was shadow mapped lighting everywhere(uncommon on xhox titiles).
Have a question related to modding or something I posted? Something that needs staff attention? I haven't been active lately, but feel free to PM me or message me on Steam(link below)
