They said it was canned for now but not completely dead. In a way I'm glad cause it means they'll put more effort into the real sequel when they get the chance.

Seriously? Fuck, I loved Mirror's Edge. One of the most innovative and fun FPS's in awhile. I will miss it and loathe DICE for canceling Mirror's Edge 2. I did hear rumors that it wasn't canceled but put on hold for a few years. So, there is still hope. Hopefully, Mirror's Edge 2 will get the chance it deserves.

What the hell.... I'm seriously sick of these modern warfare type games. I loved the first mirrors edge! I really hope this is just a delay to make room for the only games out there. There seriously needs to be a change in the gaming scene it's getting boring.... Rust is boring and military warfare games..

Dude Battlefield is SO NOT Modern Warfare. The idea of present day real weapons is cool. I have been playing bad company 2 and I have to say it is one of the best games I have played in multiplayer. The simple fact that when sniping you have to adjust for gravity is such a win. If you get long distance headshot it takes some skill. This is a far cry from modern warfare's pray and spray like gameplay. Totally not in the same ballpark... I know what you mean about so many games being alike, but games like BC2 and the Battlefield series are far more complex than some people give them credit for.

That aside, I hope they do eventually get back to mirror edge 2. The first game was very original and had a really cool style.

Update: A representative for EA offered up a statement to 1UP, calling Mirror's Edge "an important franchise," noting that DICE is currently at work on Battlefield 3 and that it has "nothing further to announce." As expected, it doesn't give us any indication as to whether or not the original report from this past December has any merit. If Mirror's Edge really is an important franchise, though, you wouldn't expect a sequel to be canceled.

Sounds more like "delayed" than cancelled. I wouldnt want EA to pass off development to any other studio than DICE and with DICE working on something like BF3, I see this as a good move.

It's just annoying that the first real thing we hear about the game is that it's being delayed.
