I can't, too busy, I can make small things here and there but nothing worth your time or money. Otherwise, I likely would of tried out and got a game or something.

This actually sounds like a challenging and awesome project. I've thought about recreating the militairy academy I'm on too, but it just takes too much time and effort I really don't have... sadly...

Tryouts Ended. No further attempts please. Only one mapper tried out. Guaranteed job or a $50 game for him.

lamo Dr. Delta must of come from Steampowered or something.

200 for a map is really bad unless you can factor out minimum wage from hours put into the project.

time = money
talent = money

This barely pays for time alone!

It would be worth it to me.

My talent is worthless and so is my time. I would of been over-paid.

Sorry, didn't quite catch you there. "must of come" ?

It is pretty bad when you look at $/hour, but it's a lot better than nothing obviously! Someone offering someone else money is a lot better than doing it for free, if you only care about the money. :p It might actually be a really cool project to work on, maybe that's more worth than the money. Most mods don't pay anyone for their work!

I'm pretty upset that i didnt see this last month!! Because I have lived right there in Beaufort all my life and I visit Parris Island all the time. I would knock this project out of the ball park. Parris Island is a really awesome place and they have a museum full of pictures that would assist with capturing the 50's feel of the project request. I have dreamed of building a L4D campaign featuring my hometown (Beaufort) and ending up on Parris Island, waiting for rescue on an island full of zombified Marines. Sigh.

The area around the parade field has been built up a lot since the 50's. The commissary is right next to the recruit barracks and so is the new MCX (Marine Corps Exchange store). But all the training facilities are in tact and still heavily used. It would be a great place for tactical combat games.

I think I'm gonna start building it anyways because the information in the request page has inspired me.

It would still be a great project. There are a lot of clans/units in source games/mods that could benefit from it. I even have a few prefabs from my current design of it (made it a year ago, and doesnt include much of what is in this request). But I could send you the rifle range and Ocourse vmf I have that closely resemble the real thing. I only took out two obstacles on the OCourse because they are impracticable to use in the game I want to convert this map to. Unfortunately I did not find a mapper I was looking for and ended up going with someone who talked me into using him. Big regret. Luckily I did not pay everything.

And now I am a new owner of a 2010 Cobalt. Guess you can say strapped for cash now. Oh well.

So now I am stuck hoping someone would make it for free. Which I already know will never happen seeing it is probably not anything they would be interested in making in the first place. But with all maps, when you get going, the interest grows.....until you burn yourself out. All I could offer is Civilization V as a steam gift I have in my inventory haha.

i will keep you posted on my progress. mine is probably going to include more modern architecture though. we can downgrade to 50's style from there.
