Sniper Elite V2

Does anyone else have this game? I pre-ordered it, and it's been long enough now, so I figured I'd ask what other people thought of it. I like it, but it does have some really wonky animations, and the inverse kinimatics make you look absurd when you crouch and walk around. What do you guys think about it?

I love it. You are right about the animations, the are a bit wonky and the AI has some kind of eagle eye.

Yeah... The other thing that bothers me is the exagerated bullet drop. I don't really think you would need to compensate a full centimeter above a target that's only 100 meters away...

Well the scope could be set to 0m which would need compensation. I remember shooting a .22 at a target 50 yards that needed a cm or two above the impact point and at 25 yards it was hitting 2cm ABOVE the the point of aim (poor sight settings for range).
A cool feature would be where you could adjust the scope vertically so at those longer shots little to no vertical aim would be needed.

They honestly did a good job on the game, especially the graphics on consoles. Sure some things could have been better but nothing is perfect.

It is WW2 and snipers back then weren't as precise and as with much force like those we have today so I think the bullet is alright

Well, that might fly if it was say, a musket, but I mean, the muzzle velocity of WWII sniper rifles was not a huge amount lower than now...

I played it after my friend bought it. The v2 rocket facility was the hardest level in the game and was only the second area. Really brought down the gameplay for the rest of the campaign (the rest of the levels were a breeze). Like squishy said, the AI had perfect 180 degree 20/20 vision and could even see you all the way across the map in certain situations despite covering behind smoke or obstacles.
I did enjoy shooting the guy at the very end though. Got him with just one shot ;)
Also brought back some nostalgia from playing Medal of Honor Allied Assault.
5/10 would probably bang

The AI was annoying how at times when you would not be able to be seen, they can still shoot you. And then at times when you are so obvious, they just walk right past. The kill cams were good, but happened to often so I lowered it in the settings. Gameplay was fun. Story was pretty good considering its a soldier shooter. My biggest issue with this game is that your characters voice is un-emotive and so stupidly rustic, he sounds like a throat cancer patient, and the multiplayer is not very fun because it forces everyone to be camping snipers which makes the gameplay slow, boring and unfair.

All in all 6/10.

Yeah, multiplayer is lame... I can't imagine why they would think only snipers in deathmatch would be fun...

I'm surprised to see all the praise for this - I thought it was totally bland. For a game that centres entirely around the shooting, it feels incredibly arcadey, and no more realistic than any other console-targeted shooter. It's also not even worth playing on anything but the hardest difficult on PC because of how accurate you can be with a mouse - the compensations on lower difficulties make it painfully easy.

The ultra-violence-porn kill cams are a fun gimmick, but it wore off pretty quickly for me and the encounters are far too linear. A sniper game should give you far more in the way of options to complete an objective rather than just RUN TO YELLOW SQUARE SHOOT TARGET RUN TO NEXT YELLOW SQUARE.

The first one was a arcadey, so I was expecting it to be the same, it was, I liked it.
When in doubt, VDC.
