reinstalling /uninstalling directx

I recently downloaded a few demos, one apparently forced a directx 10 install. This wouldn't be a problem if I used Win7, but I don't. I still use XP, so now Crysis fails to work, it has what appears to be faces stretching through out the screen, flickering back and forth between a screen full of faces and the game.

So I need to uninstall directx 10, any ideas?

DirectX 10 can't be installed on Windows XP, so I doubt that's the problem. Try running the dxdiag program (from Run in your start menu)

I did, thats how I know it is dx10.

And as you can see, the stupid demo installed dx10. (By the way, system restore fails to complete)

Run the Dx9 version of the Crysis.

Also, I would prefer to just remove Dx10 to completely fix the problem.

This July I will have it. But until then I am stuck with XP.

Yeah and I would prefer to have the ability to play Crysis in the mean time.
