Half-Life 2 Problems

Postby Thunderchevy on Thu Jun 03, 2010 1:46 am

Hello Interlopers, I have a graphics problem dealing with my resolution size when I start up episode 1, ep2, portal.. When I try to start the game up, you can see the loading bar on the top of my screen, and the rest is black.. So I run it in a window, then from the main menu I set the graphics resolution at 1024 x 768 and in full screen. Then it works. But if I close it and want to go back, I have to do all that again. So how do I fix it so I don't have to start it in a window and manually set it to 1024 x 768 every time? I also have an Intel chipset. I have 4.0 pixel shadier, Hard Ware and Tool, 3D, DX 10, and 1.7gb memory. on Half-Life 2 ep. 2 I get an engine error. It says "your graphics card must have 1.1 pixel shadier." My chipset is fine. It runs better than some AMD 4000 series graphics card. Is there some way Valve can register a chipset. Half-Life 2 and ep. 1 run fine. Ep. 1 has that resolution problem. Half-Life 2 has no problems what so ever. It would really help. After all I love the Half-life series. I am very sad for the loss, but keep the Half-Life series going. I can't wait for ep. 3 or Half-Life 3. :D

Right click on HL2 on your Steam list, go to properties. Go to "Set Launch Options".

On the empty line, type, "-fullscreen -height 768 -width 1024" without the quotes. Or you can do -windowed, or whatever.

Here's a list of all the rest of them.
