How do you disable the network chip on a motherboard so you can install a network card? This computer is using Win 98 se. I cannot find the name of the chip on the motherboard so therefore cannot find the drivers for the network chip. I have a network card with everything with it I like to put in it.

You can just put in the network card, and install the drivers for that card. You can have multiple network cards plugged in and ready for use, you don't have to disable the old one.

Also, check the name of the motherboard and see what network card is listed in the specifications on the manufacturers website.
