Now let's all pray real hard that it gets to my relatives before the July 14th. Because on the 14th they're taking a flight to visit me and they should bring this card with them!

But you don't tell us which manufacturer you went with... :P

Haha you're right! Well it's - *drumroll* - this!

I took the reburbished one for a sweet price. It says "NEW Open box. NEVER used. 1 Year Manufacturer Warranty" meaning it's 99% okay. And Manufacturer warranty means I can send it for repairs from anywhere in the world, which is great, because I don't live in the States.

Guess what, it shipped already! If the postal services of New York are even half-decent it'll arrive on time.

I don't know, I rather take last generation's best card for cheap instead of current-gen almost-best card for MEGA EXPENSIVE. But I guess you have you your reasons (and probably some cash you don't mind spending) so I hope you find the best deal out there, and ride that card like a rollercoaster!

Not quite as expensive as my little guy :) However I need to run things at 5760x1080. This card is complete overkill for 1980x1080. Good luck with your 4890, that's a fantastic card and should hold up to most of everything, and I can't believe its only going for $150! (Referb, but still!)

Don't buy the HD 5770!
There is something wrong with the series; randomly causes the screen to display green vertical lines.

I'm not saying every card is like this, but i've had this problem and many others have too.

I no right? It feels like it was just months ago the 4870 was going for 300$ and a 4890 was almost 500$! Oh wait. That was only a few months ago... FUUU TECHNOLOGY!!!

BFG isn't shutting down, they're just getting out of the graphic card manufacturing business. They gonna continue making PSUs and Mobos.

I was having this problem often, I updated a few drivers, directx, CCC, etc. And now it works great.

I think he meant to say it was actually expensive. Well like I said earlier, it's "NEW Open box. NEVER used". It comes with 1 year of XFX warranty, so I think it's legit. A brand new 4890 costs at least $190-$200, meaning I saved like $40.

I don't think the card is really "refurbished" as in mechanically fixed, it's just an open box. They say the card is brand new and only the box was opened, I hope they're telling the truth... The store got top ratings, so I think it was a good deal. Let's hope I'm right! :)

Yeah I saw this was a recurring phenomenon at several pages and reviews. Some people said to use ATI Tray Tools and not the CCC, or just clean drivers without any tools software, and that seems to help. I'm saying this so it might help you too.

I already recieved and installed the 4890, it works great though the fan can make some noise when the graphics get tense. Tried Crysis and it is jaw-dropping, I never had this kind of hardware! I think I'll try GTA4 next. If you have any ideas about good games that can also put this card to some good use, I'd love to hear.

Also, big thanks to everyone who helped me on this subject! I'll remember that ;)

Metro is supposed to be demanding and you could consider WiC, Supreme Commander (tho the latter is also very cpu consuming).
