SRT convertion issue

Postby elemenz on Sun Aug 15, 2010 11:49 am

Not sure what section to post this in but...

So I'm using "Any Video Converter" to get .avi files into .mpg so I can import them into Sony Vegas 8.

Problem is I want to get rid of the subtitles.

So I used this tool

http://www.free-codecs.com/download/DirectVobSub.htm

and this guide

http://www.any-video-converter.com/add- ... -video.php

to make my own *empty* subtitle.srt file and it works fine.

When I play the .avi the subs are automatically gone,
but the *step 5* part won't cut it.

I select my .srt file, convert the original .avi with it, all as told in the guide,
but the outcome is still a .mpg file WITH subs in it when I play the file.

Anyone know how to make this work, or any other way to convert .avi files into .mpg
without subs or just remove them ?

Thanks

your codec is turning the subs on by default, therefore they are on when you convert. turn them off in your apps codecs manually. I use ffdshow and its an easy fix.
