i have absolutely no idea at all! :(

Postby ROFLhacks on Thu Sep 16, 2010 6:42 pm

Im have a pc issue that i dont think even exists, but some strange reason i can only use one pcie x16 slot on my motherboard or my pc wont start up. Also all of the pcie slot on my motherboard work, this only happens when i use more than one. This isnt a big problem for me but i would love to know why the hell this is happening and if there's any way to fix it.

Hardware is:
Motherboard: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6813130236
Ram: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6820220441
Cpu: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6819103674
Psu: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6817159111
And video card is not the same brand as this on but its basically the same thing: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6814130434

plz helps me and ill give you a milky way! :P

SLI is VERY picky in which cards will work together. Even same board different brand i heard can cause problems.

EDIT: quick google found that different brands on their own are okay, but they might use slightly different versions, causing conflicts.

Im just aiming at the most obvious (to me at least) cause. Guess it could also be a power issue, driver issue, mobo/chipset issue, etc.

i had 2 gts 250's in sli but since i had this problem i traded one of them for a gtx 260 with this dumbass i know. XD But this is the weirdest problem i have ever had and i not a power, or a driver issue because it wont even power on, but it could be the mobo.

Also when i had sli with 250's i lost one of the 6pin pcie connectors for my psu so i jumped an extra psu i had just laying around and used some 4pin molex to 6pin pcie to run my second gpu.
