Hammer lag when hovering over viewports

Just loaded hammer on my laptop, running in offline mode, and everytime I hover over 1 of the viewports, there is like a 1-2 second lag before it becomes responsive again. The laptop is more than up to spec to run hammer, 2.2ghz triple core AMD, 4GB of ram. This happens on any map, even empty new ones.


EDIT: Vid card is an ATI 5470 512mb

Use the thing that only shows parts of the map to reduce lag?

I don't know what your referring to, but I shouldn't have to, as this problem exists even on a blank map, shouldn't be doing this.

hitting 1 and 2 will decrease and increase the visible distance in the map. You can also shut off the render wireframe for the models in 2d mode. Also go into options and reduce the distance models render in 3d view.

Hitting 1 or 2 doesn't make a difference, render wireframe was already shut off, and ive reduced visibility on everything, still makes no difference.

Improper or outdated graphics card drivers?

They are the latest ATI drivers.

EDIT: Maybe something to do with the dual GPU setup my laptop has? runs the integrated card on battery, then the 5470 when plugged in. I doubt it though, it does it on both. The laptop is a DV7-4171

Silly question, have you tried running it online and not in offline mode? I don't think it has anything to do with it, but hey stranger things have happened... Aside from that, I am not sure what to tell you. The other stuff is what i do when i map on my laptop and it runs fine.I have an ATI mobility Radion 4330 in my laptop and I have not run into any problems, running games is a different story, but hammer runs great.

Yeah I haven't tried it yet in online mode, as work blocks steam :( but I will test that out as soon as I go home.

Nope, still does it in online mode, at this point i will uninstall SDK and try reinstall.
