So I managed to install my GPU drivers, but now I'm getting "failed to create D3D device" when trying to run Ep2. Since this is a new install, I don't have any other games to test with, but I'm downloading HL2 and CSS for just that reason.
I've run down the list of suggestions, but nothing has worked - except the part about sweeping for old drivers, I haven't tried that yet, as Windows Update is still running, and I need to leave for work in a few minutes anyway.
The strange part is that everyone else seems to get this problem with ATI cards, but I run nVidia.

OS is Windows 7 (patched to SP1), GPU is an nVidia 7900GTX.

What's going on here?
i had fun once, and it was awful.

And now it... works?
I... what. I have no idea what's going on.

Thanks for taking time out of your day, Delta, at any rate.

Let me guess, you didn't restart after installing the drivers?
