Need more specs than just the graphics card.

Get the 6850 instead, it's maximum 100$ more and it's way more powerful.

Is there a reason you need the i7-2600 and not the i5-2500? It's the same chip, i7 can just hyper thread and have 0,1ghz more. They overclock the same btw if you buy unlocked K version.

what is the difference between i5 and i7 anyways? ive been going through the options on the dell website for a new xps for a long time, but i keep wondering why i7 is more expensive...i'm not computer savvy so idont know what all the numbers mean.

Hyper threading is the main difference. Means the i7 can handle 8 threads at once while the i5 can handle 4. Not much reason to go i7 over i5 for gaming though. Its going to be a long time before games actually utilize 8 threads. Most games still only utilize 2.

I'm not building one, I'm getting a prebuilt - so the processor will probably stay so

I can also change the graphics card after some months

I just put in my new Radeon HD 6750 1GB graphics card into my Pavilion p6230y PC and put in a new Thermaltake TR2 600W power supply, For some unknown reason, my HP 2009m monitor is not receiving a signal from DVI or VGA, and I have the VGA cord plugged into both the monitor and the PC. Also, i have no cords connected to the back of the graphics card, all i have plugged into it is the cord from the power supply, that's it.

ack! just write down the parts that the prebuilt ships with and buy them on your own. self-builds save you a fat stack of cash, and anyone can do it.

lampard, check the power requirements for the video card, it might be in need of one or two of those six-pin connectors.

This thread is a bit old and decrepit.

I have the Radeon HD 6850 in my PC and will run any game out at the moment at Max graphics, would recommend over the older 6750
