Hey Interlopers!
I just got a new laptop a Asus N56DP and i have Windows 8 on it, And what can i say? i hate it..
My question is.

Can i delete windows 8 and install windows 7 and still use the same driver from the C:/eSupport/eDriver
The same driver that is on the driver disk that followed.

On the disk it says, "This disc supports Windows*8 64-bit only

So the disc won't work in windows 7?
if not. do the drivers from the folder in C: dose?

I'm sure you could find the boot disc and/or drivers for your laptop online somewhere. You should be able to just wipe it clean though and put 7 on it, then find all your drivers and software online and get what you need. If you have another PC around that is running 7 you can try putting the disc in that computer and seeing if anything installs from it.

I've heard lots of good things about Windows 8... what do you hate about it?

I'm fairly certain it would be no problem to find the same or equivalent drivers for your laptop's hardware for Windows 7. Though maybe it's worth to give 8 a go?

If you main complaint is the metro UI I feel your pain. I think it's great of microsoft to change their windows after all these years but it's really half ass'ed metro. Windows is still there running in the back ground and it sometimes uses it, and I don't know what's going on with it. Touching my screen all the time (If I had a touch screen) would get really old after and tiring after awhile... I'll touch Ipads and my phone but doing this in a working environment on my computer no thanks...

And Win 7 is a skin for Vista hahaha, Go back to XP.

Sorry but I'll pick Windows 7 over XP any day. The improved taskbar is reason enough. It makes multitasking much better, not to mention Win7 handles multitasking far better than XP.

And you can't forget DX11 support. Granted they should have just given DX11 support to XP, but whatever. I'd still rather use Win7 anyway.

Also, Windows 7 runs better than Vista and is more stable. Windows 7 is what Vista should have been.


Anyway. If you want to go back to Windows 7, you should get a comprehensive list of every component your pc has so you can download the appropriate drivers online after you reformat. There's no way any of the hardware in your PC use drivers that don't support Windows 7. You probably have some manufacturer software installed which is Windows 8 only, but basically all computer manufacturer software is useless junk that either hogs resources or is totally unnecessary for using your computer to its full extent. If I were to receive a manufactured computer as a gift or something (because I'd never buy one, personally), then the first thing I'd do is reformat it.

If you really do want all the software, there may be Windows 7 versions available online.

You'll probably need drivers for your:

• Videocard
• Audio'card' (probably onboard)
• Lan drivers
• Wifi drivers
• Bluetooth drivers
• Mouse pad drivers
• SD card drivers

But thanks to Windows Vista/Windows 7 a lot of drivers are either already included, or will be downloaded automatically.
