I'm really looking foreward to seeing this movie. I read the book a couple months ago and really liked it, but I know it was stirred up a lot of contraversy. What are your opions on the book/upcoming movie?

One thing that I think people seem to forget is that it is a FICTIONAL novel. Dan Brown isn't saying this is what happened, it's just fiction.

i liked the book, right up until the end. it was fast paced and well planned. I think the movie will be good. i agree with you however. its fiction, a good story. even if it were true (which is a long bomb) then how does this book prove anything?

Books are interesting, albeit a bit stolen from holy blood / holy grail.

I'm not much of a Tom hanks fan so don't know what to expect of the film ...

Great book and definately not stolen from Holy Blood, Holy Grail.

One was a non-fiction book (though most of it is based on evidence that was completely false: all of the "priory documents" have since been proven to be a hoax) and one was a fictional story that took elements from a number of non-fiction books and mashed them all together in incompatible ways to create an interesting story.

I'm moderately excited about the movie. Ron howard is a strong director, Audrey Tautou owns my heart and Jean Reno is badass. I'm also a Hanks fan, but I never really thought he was right for this. Time will tell. Also, Paul Bettany is creepy as all get out. Should be at least a fun movie if not perfect. I'm curious how much they will change and how well that will gel with cohesivenes?

The one thing that annoys me the most is that people take the book as fact when it is mostly half-truths and all lies woven together to form a conspiracy book of sorts (Yeah, okay, so it's not exactly like a secret assassins club but still).

Am looking forward to the movie though.
