Cookies Problem

Postby shr3ds_clone on Fri May 12, 2006 12:42 pm

I can't log into my other account (try and guess who I am ¬.¬). I deleted my cookies and temporary files. I think someone might have hacked it. Any suggestions?

No. When I type in my real password, it just reloads the login page and shows it fully blank (the view source stuff is also completely blank except for saying the following things)

Code: Select all
<!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.0 Transitional//EN">
<HTML><HEAD>
<META http-equiv=Content-Type content="text/html; charset=windows-1252"></HEAD>
<BODY></BODY></HTML>

If I type in the wrong password it still does it. If I log in with any other account I'm fine. :\

This should be in hardware/software but oh well.

What browser are you using? Did you clear your cookies and cache?

Yes, I clicked 'delete temporary files' and 'delete cookies' in the options thing in IE 6.0. It does the same thing in Firefox. Btw what do you mean by clear your cache (I think I haven't done that :\). If all fails maybe an admin can delete my old account and make a new one with the same password/post amount and rename it to shred :(

p.s thats only a last resort

Your cache is the same thing as temporary files. Did you use the' forgot your password' link and have the password sent back to you? Make sure to copy and paste from the email to PW field. Hightlight the whole thing to see if a space or invisable characters got added. Have you tried from another PC? Maybe post it in here and let someone from here try or PM it to Blink? Once you fix it you can change your PW to something new.

Sounds like an account problem if you have the same thing from IE and FF.

I would try from another PC first, but you can try this. Goto Start, Run, type cmd. In the window type "ipconfig /flushdns" without the quotes. Then type "ipconfig /registerdns" It COULD be possible if you missed logging in by mistake, it might be pulling the same old page saying you failed, whether or not you are using the correct login. And the would fail for IE and FF if true. Type exit to close the window.

You can also try opening your Network Connection, right click on the icon and select Repair.

It's ok zombie, somehow my account got set to inactive. It's all been fixed now thnx to blinks speedy work. Cheers to all.

Anywho just heads up to those who change vital info (eg email), you will need to reactivate your account. I accidentally messed up by changing my real email to a fake one coz I thought that was the one that showed up :P Don't chuck a shr3d and do what I did

You can always change your profile options and set the Email to hidden, when you changed Email it must of set the account to inactive until you re confirm the email is correct, so that's where you went wrong.
