The guy in charge of Goldeneye Source apparently topped himself the other day. From what I have read 'Nickster' set himself alight, or at least his home:

This is sad to see somthing like this occur in a community that i like to call my 2nd home. Please no one else fallow this act of suicide ... because in the end if you think no one loves you ........

From what I've read not everyone agrees, suicide is seen as a cowardly act and he did burn down most of his house and endanger the lives of people living nearby.

I thought I would post it here for people to discuss but not make it a frontpage.

I don't know the guy or his mod that well and don't think it's my place to post a tribute to someone I know nothing about. Everyone else is welcome to leave messages comments etc over at their forums where I think some of his family have posted.

Be honest ... you don't "know" me. If I would kill myself right now, would you care about it? However I do feel sorry for all the people that did know him ...

I don't quite get the suicide thing either, ofcourse there are times when you'd wish yourself dead, but not literally...

the reason posted is kinda weird too, he's curious about the afterlife, my own beliefs aside, shouldn't you find out when you're atleast 70/80 years old?

and I don't understand how one would kill himself in a fire though... I think that must be the most gruesome death, unless you die of suffucation from the smoke produced or something, I mean, guns are everywhere in the US buy one! or hang yourself from a bridge/jump off it (I'm not trying to be funny here, but seriously, who would burn himself?)

Wow

Nick enjoyed working with computers. He was also a video-game enthusiast. He worked on a large team that developed the mod Goldeneye Source. He also enjoyed writing, both stories and screenplays.

Can't believe they put all that in the obituary, they're good :S

But, jesus christ, who goes out like that? Bringing a BBQ into the bathroom and burning yourself and the house down? I can't possibly imagine what he was thinking when he did that
