The world is going to end!

Postby treebolt on Fri Dec 22, 2006 9:05 am

Lets face it, one day the world will end. Humanity and life in general... all the memories, relationships, technology, research, history, media... its all going to be wiped from reality at one point or another.

but what will be the world's final blow?

Well dude you are asking one thing and present choices for another. So you need to be more clear. You asked about the end of the world, not the end of the human race. You give choice for how humans will perish.

The end of the world (our Earth) will end the sun starts to die and is engulf and burned away in about 5 billion more years. (There is one method that can move the Earth away, but it will matter little after the sun is gone) The world will gone with or without humans.

As for humans, I don't know. We abuse our resources and all we do is take, we rarely give back, expect as co2, poisons, and garbage.

If we don't start moving masses of people to space and beyond to explore and settle new worlds we will surely die when the sun expires. Probably in the next serveral generation we will start doing this. If we can avoid the Earths fate and killing off our selves then we might make it to the end of the Universe. Then everything and everyone will be gone forever in a big stretch the will pull the very fabic of the universe apart, not even atoms will survive.

Life on earth will probably be reduced after a huge piece of space rock hits it, but I think humanity will continue living. Interstellar travel is just around the corner. :-D

Unless that space rocks hits us before that. :P

I assume the end of the earth and the end of humanity is one in the same. Personally, I don't see humans surviving on another planet, we evolved for this planet, we would die anywhere else. Besides I seriously doubt we have enough resources to move massive amounts of people to another planet and settle there.

That is just my theory...

mabe we will develop droids with a learning type intelegence and eventually take over

It won't be anytime soon.

Most likely some kind of large scale disaster.

No matter how the media *portrays* them (the news gets more ratings by scaring us because people pay more attention to imagined/perceived imminent dangers by nature, rather than good news), No human being who has the power to do so (nope, not one) is stupid or crazy enough to do anything that would end the whole world.

Not kim jong, not iran, not even the U.S.
Nobody.

We'll be FINE for a long, long, looooooong time.
Strangely Delicious.

That can never be predicted, who knows, our divine creator (assuming you belive in one) could just decide to one day wipe everything away.

The point is... acually... I see no point in this thread it's not really going anywhere

The end of the Earth and end of humanity may or may not be linked, time will only tell.

Humans do adapt and evolve, plus what nature can't do for us, will can soon do for ourself, genetic manipulation. We could alter our bodies to fit the the environment in which we choose to live.

Life on earth will probably be reduced after a huge piece of space rock hits it...

Highly unlikely at this point in time. We have too many humans scanning the sky for us not to notice and do something about it. People are racing to find these type of objects, from professionals to amateurs, there is glory for the discovery.
Something to think about is if we do get hit, there is not an asteroid big enough (in this solar system) to destory the Earth, but it could for sure wipe out the surface.

And in the end we will all be displayed a Blue Screen Of Death error.

Well, I don't believe in God, but with quantum mechanics, we could one day just pop out of existance.

And in the end we will all be displayed a Blue Screen Of Death error.

LOL, maybe we all just a computer simulation?

well, if we where to go out someway imo it would have to be zombies, at least that way it would be somewhat mind numbing entertainment behind the world ending

what would be more fun then living out your most fav zombie game for the end of the world :-D

but i doubt the world will end

i think that when colonisation of other worlds starts up
that the population of earth will go down to more manageable numbers for the earth to handle and it will eventualy get cleaner and be a better place to live in

There are already several inbound, although it will take a long time yet. The question is if we are able to do something about it.
