Argh, come to think of it, I'm probably one of the more immature members here. I'm 17 years old, but I act a whole lot younger if things don't go my way. This is because I'm autistic (with Asperger's Syndrome), and very emotionally sensitive. I've never been able to handle things like getting teased/made fun of, or any sort of negativity directed towards me and the things I like/dislike. That's why I was tempted to leave Interlopers after I couldn't handle an argument me and Jest had not too long ago. Arguments are the reason I left another forum I used to frequent (for the time being, anyways). There's most likely going to be more of this to come; there's just no getting away from it...

On a more positive side, I've been mapping (if it was even called that back then) for, quite a long time. It all started with Duke Nukem 3D; my dad bought it when I was around 6 or 7 IIRC. I fell in love with it the first time he played it (pretty much). But I never knew you could "map" for the game; as I didn't find that out 'til much later (like a few years later). It was also after we moved from Gainesville, Florida to Savannah, Georgia (which was like 9-10 years ago I think). I saw dad tinkering with BUILD (DN3D's level editor), and I wanted to know what he was doing. I guess after that, I got hooked. I also got hooked to making maps for another BUILD engine game, Blood, not too long after that. When Half-Life came into the scene (which dad also bought unexpectedly, along with Unreal), it was quite a long time before I attempted to map for HL. I thought it was too hard; no, impossible at the time. But I eventually found a tutorial (on a friend's site) that changed what I thought mapping for HL was, and soon the basics where simple. After a long while, I had many TFC maps made (but only 2 got released ). TFC was really the only game I mapped for, as well as release any maps for (I did do HL1 maps, but never released them (as they were for learning)). Unfortunately, I started mapping a little too late in HL1's life. A year or two later, HL2 came into my life; and it was easy to adjust to (as the editor and the basics were pretty much the same, as well as easier to use). But perhaps it was TOO easy to adjust to Source; I dread going back to fix/release my TFC maps, since I'd be going back to a not-so-easy hammer editor. Unlike HL1, I didn't start mapping for HL2 quite as late (some say it could be at the beginning somewhat), and hope to release tons of good maps for HL2/HL2DM/FF, etc. before HL2 retires...

PS: Maybe we should make this mapping history thing another topic, as it seems much more popular than the current subject at hand...

its funny I am awesome at tatical games, I was playing plan of attack and my teamate kept dying so I just went the sneaky root and flanked them. by the time they figured out what I did they either had a bullet or shrapmetal in them.lol

Was put on ADHD medication when I was 16, never took it cause it would bring me down and it sucked. Now I take it just not as often. The effect last a long time for me. ONly time I get riled up is when I'm having a good time, then I fucking get hyper and crazy as fuck saying anything that comes to mind.


Well I realized bullshit I did, did not do anything, and it was ALWAYS better to ignore the asshole... mainly because I'm an asshole and it does piss me off when I'm ignored. A forum ignore is nothing, so don't think you got leverage on me.

For me I only have a problem with teens on the internet, when I have voip turned on and I hear that "high pitched" voice cussing everybody out and saying how he is going to "pwn all n00bs with his l33t skills." In fact I never turn it on anymore. I just use chat and in-game commands, since the voip is so irritating.

As far as this forum goes I think most of the younger members act pretty mature for the most part. Some I did even noticed were 12-15 until I was told so.

I was on ritalin then concerta for adhd from when i was 5 to when i was.....13? 14? told em i wasnt going to take it anymore because it made me depressed, feel like a zombie like. and not a fast zombie, one of those zombies thats sitting against the wall till you shoot him

yeah, when i was 12 i was all like "omgz0rz i ar teh be teen so00n w00t!?!?!!!" like it was a big deal, in retrospect i guess it was, meant middle school but still....people think of teenagers as 'rebellious' or 'idealistic' 'wanting to be mature' 'young adults' 'almost there' 'free-thinking' etc. etc. etc. 13-14 years olds are typically just like "omgz0r i r teh w00t w00t !@!!$3211 (whats a puizzy?)" except in real-life talk. and even if your not like that, well, theres a piece to the humanity pie missing at 13. hard to describe, not talking about maturity. but if yur a younger youll find it and look back one day and say what the fuck was I

I've found that I've become alot LESS mature having played CSS almost constantly these holidays. I have very little tolerance for mic-spamming / high-pitched 'mice' whinging over the mic and crap like that, but I'm also noticing alot more that I trick myself into thinking that somebody has speedhax that are activated when they take a stab with their knife (i've been noticing this alot in gg servers, where players appear to 'lunge' towards you from almost 2 metres as you run away from them, desperately waiting for your weapon to reload.)

I think that CSS is like a drug, and has long-term effects. It's just lucky that I am usually very mature for my age (16) - so I wasn't affected as much as, say a 12 year old kid.

Over time I think that a perfectly normal 12 year old kid who is polite to his parents / whatever can become a rude, arrogant, dickhead, and I believe that it's these games that are the cause. I'm not trying to ban games or anything - that'd be awful. I just think that maybe instead of making gaming a competition it should be more of a friendly get-together trying to accomplish a common goal (defuse a bomb / whatever.) gungame fails at this.

I haven't been poisoned by GunGame's evil ways yet. Vanilla CS is the best tbh. After that come surf maps. At least these maps (vanilla/surf) have an objective (eg defuse bomb, plant bomb, get to end of map) whereas fy and other kind of maps are just KILLLLLLLLLLL.

i agree with you on surf, but vanilla cs has just gotten so damn boring. Then theres the fact that my aim sucks so i get totally owned. Maybe i should be playing bots, coz if i get pissed at them, I can just kick them and play against one who sucks

A friend of mine has the same except that he isn't very emotional but very very smart. or clever, or what not.
anyway he has an IQ of 160 (I know that doesn't say anything... well not really) but he has this photo-copy memory thing.

anyway he learns stuff as if it was nothing.
He does miss out on alot of good stuff, which I'm trying to not let him miss out on. (films, music, random stuff)

he's a great guy though.

I remember taking an IQ test not too long ago, and I think I had like 150-160 IQ (dunno what exactly). I also have a near photographic memory, but it has deteriorated over time; it was at its highest when I was younger (like 5 or 6). Like I said above, I excel in math (which from what I can tell around here, is the hardest/most hated subject). I'm a good bit above average at other things too, but not like math.

PS: I forgot to mention I also use proper english, especially on forums like these. I don't use or like 1337speak. Even though I do use many of the abbreviations (lol, wtf, etc.) a lot, but I think that can't be avoided...
