Hey I didnt think of that lol. Normally I would make an argument about succession, however that doesnt apply unless we secure our borders against nature and stop the mutual invasion of each others land

I don't really care what people do, so long as they do with foxes, so long as they do it in moderation.

Honestly, you think a fox would make a kick ass fur scarf, go for it. Want to stuff one because you think it'll look cool? Be my guest. Ever wondered how hard it would be to kill a fox? Why don't you find out?

So long as it doesn't cause a drastic negative effect, what does it matter?

I really tune out people who try their higher morality arguments. Animals are not humans. As such, they do not matter nearly as much as humans do. Humans change the world. This is kind of a defacto statement. We sail the seas, we blast into space, we terraform the earth, creating lakes or filling them in as we need. We cause the ruination of various wildlife habitats, we create new ones. Other animals also change the earth, I would like to point out, not everything lives in lovely lion-lying-with-the-sheep harmony. The world is constantly changing and we are the dominant species, it is our right to change it to our will. Why? Because there's no one to stop us.

That being said, of course we don't want to be silly, of course we should preserve the earth, of course we shouldn't hunt foxes into extinction. These things are detrimental to us.

So again, so long as it's in moderation, go ahead guys, have fun hunting foxes. It does sound like fun.

tbh, that is such a sadistic view on the world. " we are more powerful, therefor we can do what ever the fuck we like"
i take it u support 3rd world cheap labour?

if a new species comes (aliens or whatever) and they were way mroe powerful than us, would it be right for them to kill us? we are idiots to them, what does it matter if we get killed or wiped out?
im preety shure u wouldent be to happy if they came and hunted us. you may think that there is such a huge difference in us and foxes, but then there is the same difference in foxes and something like ants. foxes probably know that they are way superior to the ants, just like we think we are way superior to the foxes!

if we are the dominant species on this world, we should help it! we have the power to keep this world going, but instead we are so greedy and powerful that we decide to take advantage of that power.

and btw slayera, i sorta agree wiv u. but i think there should be a control over it, like have people whos job it is to do that. people haveing fun outa killing animals is preety twisted. also, the way its done over here in england (dogs and such) is just nasty and cruel. a bullet to the head is much nicer than being ripped apart.

1) Animals and humans are very, very different
2) Foxes are not capable of meta-thought, as in, they are not aware of themselves in a: I am a fox, I am smarter than an ant but not as smart as a monkey, kind of thing. In fact, the only animals shown to have meta-consciousness are chimps and dolphins. There was recently an article in the New Scientist about this. It's worth a read, but you have to have a subscription or go through a university database, so no linky for you.
3) We can do whatever we like. As I said in the post, we need to temper it with moderance, but I don't believe we should cower in the corner, never altering nature, never embracing that we are like God, we alone can create things and so completely alter the Universe around us. I will not go back to living in a cave.
4) I don't believe in sadism (unless you're both into it, natch), I don't believe in animal cruelty, torturing a living being is horrid. But a fox is still just an animal and we are free to hunt it for sport, or for it's fur. I honestly have no ethical problems with that.
5) Again, Do not compare people to animals. Because I think that killing a barely sentient being is okay means nothing when talking about human work conditions.

Fox hunting in my opinion should not have been banned, being a farmers son myself I know that they are a pest. And fox hunting was a british tradition, people would always go and see the red coats of the hunt go by.

In sight it was pretty stupid to ban it because there was no way in earth the police could enforce the law. So to this day people still hunt they just do it in a more cruel manner as they themselves are not alowed to hunt them they devise other ways to bypass the law. Which can lead to a lot more inhumain killings than when it was legal.

What next, ban on shooting pidgeons eating the wheat in your feild, rofl.
