H5N1 Bird Flu

Postby Sharpshooter761 on Sun Feb 11, 2007 12:19 pm

Ok, serious discussion time.

Alot of people who live in the U.K will of heard of a certain turkey farm being infected with the H5N1 strain of Avian Bird Flu. At first it did not seem serious, they told us there was no possible chance of it getting into the food chain. However now their storys have changed, and there now saying that there is a risk of it being in the food chain. They are debating on whether or not to take the turkey and chicken of the shelves.

What do you think about this incident? Are you worried?

After SARS, I frankly don't care how 'powerful' or 'deadly' a disease is. Most of it is just hyperbole.

There's a cure for bird flu. People will die of cholesterol more than bird flu tbh.

There is only 16million Tamiflu Vaccinations for the U.K though. I suppose we will get good support and help from the US if the flu did break out.

I laughed but that is so sad at the same time. The US cried wolf and nobody will believe us when a really serious problem comes along.

That's funny, cos most stuff with shit in in tastes like chicken.

I remember being really worried about SARS, Saddam nuking me,
comets hitting the earth, etc. etc. etc.

If it happens it happens, we can't stop it, the only thing we can be is prepared. Which we're not according to this weeks issue of The Spectator...

Which I didn't read because i cba to get worried about it. I have enough to worry about already. (emo)
