Bill Hicks

Postby Spas12 on Tue Apr 10, 2007 10:08 pm

Bill Hicks, a modern day genious that we should all have heard of. He was a well-known talented musician and a hilarious comedian. Has anybody here on this site heard his music or his comedies, or has even heard of his name?

If you haven't, Hicks was a genious. From a young age he wanted to rid the world of evil, and make the world a better place. He mixed his genious ideas of making a more peaceful world into his music and comedies.

Particually, Hicks envisioned and predicted that the state of California would fall into the ocean, from many devistating natural disasters. The band "Tool" borrowed his ideas and made the song "aenima", which talks about the state of california falling into the ocean, and getting "flushed away". Both Tools and Hicks' ideas relate to the 2012 prophecy, which they both (Hicks and Maynard James Keenan) envision and hope for.

Hicks came out with a hilarious and conflict-ridden comedy run named "Rant in E minor". He discusses his ideas on how to make the world function better and taking out the "favored egos tainting our collective subconsciousness", all in a comedic form.

So the point im getting at is to just find out how many of you were/are interested in Hicks and if you have ever listened to his work, or if you still do listen to it. Unfortunately Hicks died from cancer in '94. The world would be much more focused on making the land we live on and the people we meet better for everyone.

So has anyone ever heard or listened to Bill Hicks' work? Anyone?

So he hopes for the floodings of major cities and loss of human life?

I've heard of Bill Hicks, great guy, but I'm not sure if he was exactly on the right path in terms of his goals

Ill just say it: California is a state full of idiots and assholes. With these people gone, the world can be a more peaceful place and move on to making the rest of the world even better.

Harsh, but it would be for the good of the planet.

And tbh it wasn't his goals, it was purely nothing but his hopes and dreams.

Spas that is extremely harsh and ignorant. To make a generalization of 20 million people like that is silly. California may have its share of big coorporate careless types, but so much has come out of california it is unbelievable. California has a huge history of radical ideas on human rights and has advanced things like anti war movements and gay rights more than any other state.

Consider that next time you go and make a generalization of 20 million people.

I already completely knew somone was going to say exactly what you just said, but i still said what i wanted to. I dont mean everybody, but as a political and social whole, most of the people in California are more "f'ed up" than any where else. ignorant? yes. harsh? yes. true? yes. And besides, im not making all 100% of these considerations, Hicks himself tells some stories of the troubles in California.

Cali will never 'fall' into the ocean. It might be slowly rolled under, but never fall. It's not like the coast line then several miles deep in the sea right off the beach. It's on a subduction, the asia plate is passing under the pacific plate. Even if it could fall it would never go anyplace. Funny how ignorant people can be.

And thanks for insulting me and most of my friends, since I just born in California and just moved from there. I have a AA and votec degree, a near genius IQ and I think I am a pretty nice guy, so thanks for calling me an asshole and idiot.

You know next time you should shut your mouth before you open it and show how fuck'n stupid you are.

wow, ignorance and arrogance in true form.

eventually cali will no longer be where it is now, but thats not the point hicks nor tool were stressing. the point they are trying to make with that example is that when things become so fucked up as they might appear to be in cali the only way to fix them is to just cleanse them. cali "sinking into the sea" could be used as a miniature example of the whole world needing an "enema".

Fuck off slayer, it doesnt matter if your a genius or mentally retarded you can still be a horrible person. But that is besides the point. It is a general consensus that cali is not such a great place, and that there are allot of problems there. It is not an attack at everyone there, and taking it that way is just stupid.

I agree with you there slayer, maybe you should take your own advice.

Are you honestly stating that because Cali is 'not such a great place' that its flooding and consequence mass death would be ok?

New Orleans was enough, you're advocating the moral right for the cleansing of an entire people.

And slayera, I highly doubt you have close to genius IQ.

most of the people in California are more "f'ed up" than any where else. ignorant? yes. harsh? yes. true? yes.

That's a fallacy if I've ever saw one. There is no possible way you can generalise a population of millions as f'ed up simply because of you personnel bad experiances
Another group did that for persons of color, they were called the KKK.

Hmmm....I thought you were from in wyoming slayera? Or when you said "I thought most black people ate watermelon and fried chicken, as most people in wyoming do, until I moved to Kansas city" not what I took it to mean? Sorry if I'm completely misremembering :D I'm not jumping on the "hate slayera" bandwagon because, as you said, "I think I'm a pretty nice guy" which from what I've seen of your posts I agree with.

and I too have a near-genius IQ (148) not that it matters, or that IQ tests measure "collective intelligence" :D

Anyway, I think it would be better if, oh, say...texas fell in the ocean, or perhaps florida. Hmm, of course, if a massive group of researchers is right well, 100 million people from all over the world are going to be displaced relatively soon. Goodbye netherlands, india, california, and all other coastal regions!

back on topid: did Bill Hicks do one of the beer songs? (forgot lyrics) and/or the motorcycle song? I know I've heard him before, just cant place it!

funny how alot of genius's and assholes die of cancer..I wonder which he was?

Well, I did in fact follow my own advice, I did not read anything about the hicks/tool thing and said nothing about it.

I did in fact say something about being called an asshole and idiot by a forum member.

And I corrected myth by presenting fact. I did not speak about anything I do not know about.

And yes have (or had) and near genius IQ, the only reason I did not score at genius level I missed some higher math test questions. I tested at a collage in their LD center because I thought I had ADD and I do, plus a couple of other things. But that is not point, ALOT of Californians have collage degrees. There are a lot higher ed schools in Cali. So most of the population are not idiots. There is no way to live in California and pay for a quarter million or plus house and be an idiot, asshole maybe.

Slayer, although I do agree with you, try and take the high road and avoid insults created by the likes of an eighth grader.

Speaking from past experience, don't use the KKK or Nazi Germany to prove points.

That said, I completely agree with Caste.

I think when most people in this thread say California, what they are really saying is Downtown L.A. and Hollywood. Now, I am repeating myself, but there are a handful of corrupt cooprporate shmucks there, but for everyone of them there is a huge number of working joes, good people. would killing millions of people justify the removal of these cooprporate shmucks? In my oppinion, no! So, getting back on topic, I do believe I just destroyed Bill hicks philosophy. There are much better ways to stop coorporate power than mass killings. How much did the terrorist attack on the world trade centre affect coorporate america? Hugely, espiecally if your coorporation manufactures military technology. Anyways, that is my rant, now lets all refocus befor blink has to come in here and break it up.
