Are you honestly stating that because Cali is 'not such a great place' that its flooding and consequence mass death would be ok?

New Orleans was enough, you're advocating the moral right for the cleansing of an entire people.

And slayera, I highly doubt you have close to genius IQ.

most of the people in California are more "f'ed up" than any where else. ignorant? yes. harsh? yes. true? yes.

That's a fallacy if I've ever saw one. There is no possible way you can generalise a population of millions as f'ed up simply because of you personnel bad experiances
Another group did that for persons of color, they were called the KKK.

GOD did you even read a word of my post? im not advocating cleansing people. Im explaining what the whole idea that Bill Hicks and the members of Tool are expressing was not that cali and all its people should die a horrible death, the idea is that the world is a fucked up place and sometimes it might just need something drastic to fix it. No, i never said that would be mass killings, and no i dont think New Orleans was a good thing either, infact i find that highly insulting that you would even suggest that, so a swift fuck you to you too.

..the idea is that the world is a fucked up place and sometimes it might just need something drastic to fix it.

Now that is something debatable. If you would have stated that point more clearly, instead of insulting millions of people...

Revolutions are good example of a drastic fix, but it all depends on your point of view of what the problem is and if the fix was good or bad.

Your example..
California is a state full of idiots and assholes. With these people gone, the world can be a more peaceful place and move on to making the rest of the world even better.

There are assholes and idiots everywhere, why wipe out California and only get few when you can just wipe out all assholes and idiots everywhere? Who gets to decide who the assholes and idiots are, you? And just what are the problems are you wanting to fix? How does removing assholes and idiots make the world more peaceful? I could be an asshole that likes peace or an idiot who does not know better. Your logic is flawed.

I went into this thread prepared to talk about how funny Bill Hicks was. Great stuff. Then I read the posts...

wow. Just wow.

There is no place, not California, not Texas, not Florida, not Brittan, not anywhere, where everyone deserves to die. I'm sorry that a few figures have annoyed you on television or whatever, but seriously WTF?

BTW, what Bill Hicks says is COMEDY. Intentionally exaggerated to be funny. Are people getting this? He's working on simple, incorrect stereotypes to get a laugh. It does not mean that you should take the COMEDIAN'S assertions to be statements of fact.

Okay, I need to leave this thread and go breath into a paper bag or something...

bill hicks is pretty funny, and more thought provoking than most comedians, but i'd warn you to take everything he says with a grain of salt.

same goes for tool. they are my favorite band, and i've spent years researching and thinking about things in their lyrics. Seeing as they reside in california, i doubt they're hoping for it to be washed away in a literal sense. think about it a little more.

Quoted for double truth. Think before you post people and stay on topic.

Bill Hicks is one of my favourite comedians. His Goat-Boy impressions shock me occasionally and I am not a man who is easilly shocked. When he says "If you're in marketting or advertising... Kill yourself, no really, kill yourself" and there's an audience that is probably half full of people in marketing and advertising absolutely pissing themselves. Now that is comedy.

I have laughed til I cried whilst watching Bill Hicks many times and I cannot recommend his work highly enough.

But you are advocating it, right here

the point they are trying to make with that example is that when things become so fucked up as they might appear to be in cali the only way to fix them is to just cleanse them. cali "sinking into the sea" could be used as a miniature example of the whole world needing an "enema".

You're saying that it's ok to mass cleanse an area simply because it's fucked up. The word cleanse itself would imply the wiping away of a large mass of people.
Or, at the very least, you're backing up what Tool and Hicks' ideas on this, which are simply a very extreme case. 'Nuking it from orbit' to put it isn't the solution for the kind of things that are happening in California nor most of the world.

And thanks for remaining civil, we aren't trying to have a discussion here or anything.

BTW, what Bill Hicks says is COMEDY. Intentionally exaggerated to be funny. Are people getting this? He's working on simple, incorrect stereotypes to get a laugh. It does not mean that you should take the COMEDIAN'S assertions to be statements of fact.

'California is so fucked up, I hope it just falls into the ocean so everyone living there dies' isn't exactly something you hear from a comedian.

Sorry, just wanted to get that out of the way
