My girlfriend actually suffered from that(not the annorexia but dangerously underweight at one point.) Let's keep the jokes out of serious discussion. I'm not saying censor everything you say. if it was supposed to be a joke i would have made it funny. Its just a statement to show diseases cause infertility and menstruation stops. DISEASES. Where the hell are we going to? Pills to break bones?

There are plenty of birth controls that can stop, or cause very intermittent menstruation. For example, my wife uses an IUD that for her (it's different from person to person) almost completely stops menstruation. Every once in a while she'll get a very, very small amount, but for the most part it's gone. Different versions of the pill already out, the patch and whatever that quarterly shot thing is called have similar effects.

All birth control works by completely screwing with your body's hormones, telling it to flush any zygotes that may be floating around, and it's very strange. This thing in particular, who knows. If research shows it to be safe, than so be it, but like all other forms of birth control, it will have side effects and it's up to the individual to decide what side effects they're willing to risk.

theres different kinds of IUD's, some with hormones, other with copper (toxic). They stop the egg nestling because the egg simply cannot be where the IUD is. This also means theres a higher chance the egg will nest somewhere else in the body, most commonly in the fallopian tubes or abdominal cavity. This is lethal usually.
